For the Branding Project in the GCM 130 (Design and Layout) course at TMU, our objective was to relaunch a nostalgic product from the past and create its new brand. I unseriously hopped on board the the never-ending AI hype train, and decided that I would relaunch the Raggedy Ann doll as R-ANN, a mobile app that would use generative AI, rather than a physical doll, to bring children on its magical adventures.
The "Y2K' design aesthetic, bright neon colours, and metallic 3D elements turn the past into the future, and the basic smiley face provides a frivolous, silly personification of the app.
Examples provided below: out-of-home (OOH) advertising, a selection of elements used throughout the project, and the three primary colours from the brand guidelines.
The "REDISCOVER DISCOVERY" element in the bottom right was designed to be placed on a sticker that would be handed out in public (for example), while the other "REDISCOVER DISCOVERY" element in the top right was placed on a social media story advertisement.
The poster on the left is designed to be ambiguous, creating questions to be asked and hopefully answered once the viewer interacts with the brand on social media.
